SUPPORT PROJECTS & GIVE FREEDOM

It is important to us to achieve the greatest possible impact with the funds of our donors and supporters. Of the more than 152 million child workers, approximately 10 million children are affected by the worst form of exploitationchild slavery.

We are pleased to partner with Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), the largest grassroots movement against child labor in India. It was founded in 1980 by Shri. Kailash Satyarthi (Nobel Peace Prize winner, 2014). BBA today works tirelessly in 17 states to ensure the welfare and safety of children and to give them what is rightfully theirs. Since its inception, BBA has changed the lives of more than 100,000 children by not only rescuing them, but also working to rehabilitate them holistically.

BBA’s VISION

To create a child-friendly world where all children are free from exploitation and abuse.

BBA’s MISSION

To identify, liberate, rehabilitate and educate children in slavery through prevention, direct intervention, coalition building, mass mobilization, legal action and for the creation of a child friendly society where all children are free from exploitation and receive free and quality education.

With your donations, we can help BBA free children from exploitative situations. The support you provide will help these children reclaim their childhoods in freedom and will also give them the opportunity to live better lives through access to education and rehabilitation. Your contributions, big or small, can make a big difference in the fight against child labor!

CHILDHOOD IN FREEDOM (CIF) & BACHPAN BACHAO ANDOLAN (BBA).

Childhood in Freedom and Bachpan Bachaou Andolan have teamed up to support BBA’s victim assistance program and urge YOU to help in the fight against child slavery and child labor!

GAIN ATTENTION

We want to draw public attention to the issue of child slavery – to the fact that this is a shameful state of affairs for the 21st century and to the fact that we can do something about it together. Every day, the media reports on terrible conditions around the world, and this also carries the danger of dulling, of no longer being able to accept or ignore the many, sometimes sad news stories.

That is why we have decided to focus on hope, on the positive – namely that we can all make a difference together! For this purpose we have developed edutainment formats with which we want to inform about the topic in an emotional and entertaining way and encourage families, children and school classes to deal with the topic »child slavery« and »child labor«.

Books

In the summer of 2021 the book »Baku and the white elephant« will be published. It`s about the little Indian boy Baku who gets into the clutches of slave traders and finds himself as a child slave in a factory cellar. When he discovers that his sister has also been sold, he and friends plan his escape to freedom and a better future.

»It is a touching story and beautifully told  … I think it is beautiful how the author masters the degree between threatening and dangerous (how it really is for the children) and loving and hopeful. Really a very strong, great text!«

Musical

The musical to the book tells the story of the little Indian boy Baku and his long way back to freedom in a touching way. With emotional songs, exciting and funny scenes the musical not only informs and entertains – but it expresses that there is also hope.
